Los Angeles Wildfires Update
To All Shumei Family and Friends,
Due to the recent wildfire in the Hollywood Hills, the flames approached the front of the Hollywood Center. As a precaution, we temporarily relocated the Scroll of Light and Meishusama’s Portrait to the Pasadena Center for safekeeping.
Fortunately, the fire is now subsiding, and the Hollywood Center building has not sustained any damage. As of 7:30 a.m. this morning, the evacuation orders for the area surrounding the center have been lifted. We have also confirmed the safety of members living near the center. Additionally, while some members were forced to evacuate their homes due to the Pasadena fire, everyone is safe and unharmed.
I believe we have been protected thanks to the prayers of so many of you. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. However, the fires in Los Angeles County are still ongoing. Tragically, at least five people have lost their lives, and over 1,000 houses have been destroyed. I kindly ask for your continued prayers.
