This event is part of Vassar Serves, Vassar College’s annual global service initiative. While this year’s theme is Inspire Education, Shumei America was invited to take part with the unique opportunity to pivot our focus toward supporting fire relief efforts in Altadena by sharing Jyorei, a spiritual healing practice to bring light and comfort to those recovering from hardship.
In conversation with local advocate René Amy—known for his work distributing solar lanterns and air purifiers at the Lake Avenue Grocery Outlet—we recognized the importance of offering both practical and spiritual support to communities rebuilding in the wake of fire-related challenges.
We are honored to support this effort and contribute to the healing and resilience of the community through both practical and spiritual means.
As an act of love, Jyorei is our way of helping the world deepen spiritually. In our daily lives, some may share Jyorei with a few people each day. When Jyorei sharing opportunities arise, it’s a rare chance to share Jyorei with many individuals in a short period of time.
