Join Our Taiko Group!
We warmly invite you to practice taiko with us as a way to deepen our spiritual practice, connect with one another, and grow together.
Weekly Class Schedule
- Thursday: 7:00–8:30 PM
- Friday: 1:00–2:30 PM
Each gathering begins with Sampai (chanting) and sharing Jyorei. Our taiko practice has a spiritual purpose, and chanting and Jyorei are essential parts of every session. Friends are welcome to join—please share this intention with anyone you invite.
Orientation Before Joining
Everyone who wishes to join is asked to attend an orientation before participating in the classes. During the orientation, we will introduce the group and discuss:
- The origins of our taiko practice
- Our purpose and intention
- What regular practices will look like
- What we hope to cultivate together through taiko
We will not play taiko during the orientation. You will also complete the official sign-up form, and we can help you order bachi (drumsticks) if you need a pair.
To schedule your orientation, please contact Tomoyuki Imai at tomoyuki.imai@shumei.
We look forward to sharing this taiko journey with you!
